My capstone is over childhood obesity and how
to prevent or get rid of it. The problem is that childhood obesity is
increasing rapidly and we need to stop it from growing and put an end to it
forever. It is not that easy to put an end to a disease that is so easy to get.
Everything we do around us can cause our weight to increase if we do it
excessively and all the time. Activities like watching TV for hours, playing
video games, no physical activity, eating junk food a lot, and not eating
healthy. My solution is to create a diet plan and divide each day into carb, no
carb, dairy, no dairy days and even the whole week out by putting different
kinds of food every day for a week. Eating an excess amount of junk food causes
obesity. Children these days get candy and sugary drinks for their lunch packed
by their parent. That is not a good choice. A good choice would be to pack a
healthy sandwich, any kind of fruit, and milk or water with it. What you put in
your body effects your body weight a lot and how much you're putting in.
America has the highest number of obese children and adults. There are so many
places to get junk food from for so cheap, no one can resist it. Parents play a
huge role on their children being overweight or not. They can control what
their child is eating and drinking by buying the healthy food and filling their
pantry with all the healthy food and not buy any junk food like chips and soda
or any sugary drink. Replace chips with healthy snacks like string cheese,
fruit snacks, or granola bars. Or if they really want chips, replace the
unhealthy ones with the healthy veggie chips that are not so bad. Replace the
unhealthy cookies with the healthy oatmeal cookies, the sugary drinks with
natural no sugar drinks, etc. Small changes can really help us in a long run. It
can help us stay healthy for a lifetime and keep our body healthy and working
in condition.
